Internships

Internships

WYCF has hosted several students from different nationalities who are looking for an international placement to fulfil their university requirements. To name a few, we have welcomed Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Global Health and Human Rights researchers. WYCF provides assistance by sharing local, relevant contacts and networks, by finding local interpreters when applicable, and by facilitating low-cost accommodation at the WYCF Home, created especially for our international volunteers and visitors.

Interns can get involved by undertaking field research related to their specific study plans, by supporting a WYCF project – or both!

Impact and Outcomes So Far

WYCF strengthened its relationship with families, extending its impact beyond education to community well-being.

Mariama, a 9year old student

used to miss school frequently due to stomach infections. After attending hygiene workshops and receiving a hygiene kit, her health improved, and she now attends school regularly.

Abdul, a father of three

learned about safe water storage during a community meeting. He implemented what he learned, reducing his family’s incidents of waterborne diseases.

A group of students

from the School Health Club led a handwashing campaign that reached over 300 children and their families, instilling lasting hygiene habits in the community.
